Seriously considering getting one for my Ghost Glock 17. Curious if anyone has any experience with the products?

I used to have one of those for a Glock 19. Assembles quick and easy. Didn't have any issues at all.

Decided to sell later because... Actually I don't even know why I did it.

I have one in 10mm, I haven't shot it yet. If I had to pick a complaint so far, it's heavy.

Yeah I've had several of them, for 1911 and Glock. IMO they are best with a double stack 1911 frame, for the better trigger and a manual safety, but the Glock version is very functional too.

They are heavy, but so are most blowback actions, because they have to be. My favorite was a .45 Auto on a 1911 frame; recoil was very mild and accuracy was surprisingly good.

Their collapsing MP5-ish stock (or brace) is pretty nice too. It's not as comfortable to shoot as the solid stock, but it stores up in a compact package.

The only version I'd stay away from is the 357 Sig chamberings, but that's because bottleneck cases don't work as well in blowback actions, and is not a Mechtech-specific complaint.

Well, it arrived today.

Pistol frame doesn't fit ... front rails are 0.770" wide and the slot in the upper is 0.750"

We shall see what tech support says.

Can't find the actual glock spec on the rail dims.

Do you have any buddies nearby with a factory glock 17? I can go put calipers on my factory 17 frame if it would help.

Factory gen3 glock 17. Center rail portion at .756 near the front and tapers down to about .754 at the rear. Front and rear at .900.

It’s an Austrian frame. Doubt that makes any difference just wanted to mention

Very similar dimensions on P80 rails and a Gen3 Austrian G23.

Not the locking block but the part in front of it.

The width underneath to top "wings".

0.74 to 0.75, large frame was 0.76.

Hmmm, I've got files and know how to use them!

Will wait until I hear from tech support before making a move.

Got things working pretty good.

Excellent customer service! They really helped solve a number of issues (issues on my end - not theirs). They had no issue with "file here, then file there" all the while preserving the warranty and return for exchange options.

Ultimately I probably should have gone the 9mm AR-15 route for long term serviceability but have no regrets. This thing is built like a tank.

Last detail is a sighting system and check for accuracy at range.

This is one of my options for a 10mm SBR with mags compatible with my Glock 20. I'm thinking of getting one with the wire stock, it's a lot more sturdy and stable than I expected, and eventually cutting the barrel to about 10 inches.

Or a KRISS Vector carbine and doing the same with the barrel (I know they make a pistol and an SBR, but a 4.5" barrel? Why bother when I could just get one of those cheesy stocks for my G20 and even put on the 6 inch hunting barrel or do that to a G40?)

Both end up being smaller and more packable than an AR in 10mm, although the Mectec is a bit heavier.
