I use synthetic motor oil for cleaning and lubrication.

They spend a lot of time telling you how great it is but none telling you WHY. If one could find an SDS for the stuff I'm sure you'd find it's nothing special. I'll stick to Hoppes.

If you are more picky than me and cannot be happy with synthetic motor oil like I do, but prefer “real gun lube”, then nothing could beat old-good Nazi Ballistol.

FWIW, Super Lube has proven to many to be pretty damn good. Used on fire arms by myself and a few others (and lots of other stuff)..
I've used it in temps as low as -20f, and on machinery that ran above 450f at work.. I believe its rated at @ 600f |
