Went to Recoil magazine, and while they do have a "Going Hot" section (worth checking out) I didn't see anything on the Ruger 57 nor is there anything at Ruger.com

That would be an impressive move by Ruger. Fast moving small bullets has been a slow moving trend in handguns. I have always liked the .45 ACP round but I think this is the future defensive handguns. Bad guys are wearing body armor too.

I'd always heard that the 57 was "armor piercing" too. Not so sure.
This guy is pretty goofy (and fun to watch him blow up stuff) but he bought some armor (a cheesy IIIa lined suit coat!).
Seems like the 57 never went through. BIG rounds caused more damage from stuffing the armor into body cavities.

You guys have fun with your .22 EuroMags. I'll be over here building my suppressed AR45 pistol/SBR candidate.
Until civilians can buy real 5.7 duty ammo and not the training stuff, there's zero interest here. I'd buy a Rock Island .22TCM double stack with a 9mm conversion barrel way before a 5.7.

Ok. Small bullet moving fast. We are talking about the same thing right?

Cheaper ammo. Cheaper gun. More modular. Not high on my list, but higher than the 5.7.

SS190 is about $20/rd, which is crazy. In the meanwhile, competitive penetrator - 7.62x25 Tokarev 85 grain lead core FMJ, - is only $.20/rd Seriously, I don’t fucking get gun manufacturers’ logic!
