I'm thinking about getting one but don't have a clue as where to start.

Did you try the Search function first Rick? There are numerous threads on Chronographs and their functions here, good information if you take a look.

$500 plus? Maybe I don't need one that badly.

Good info here, just wade through the Madpick shot his Chrono stuff.
 I use this one, i have even chrono'd Airsoft guns with it...and it's cheap. To be clear ... three of my chronographs have been shot, but only one by me!

Don’t wear rimless glasses and have a super low angle with a red dot...
You get a false red dot... oops! Sorry MadPick! It left a “character mark”. Easy to tell one chrono from another. Lol. Let’s just say it grazed it. |
