Had a delightful visit with one of our students and her family this afternoon and I asked how many firearms they purchased just in time for 1639:
6 was the answer. Until they realized what 1639 meant, they were on track to purchase one and MAYBE 2. We're so proud of them! It has been an absolute delight watching them get so excited as they research and try out the firearms to confirm what they want. Good job, politicians. You've sold a shit-ton of guns this past week. The gun stores are decimated. More guns in the hands of responsible citizens. And we're ever so much further away from eliminating all the guns in circulation. Think you can buy them all back? Hell, I had maybe one or two planned last November, and then I ended up buying ~10ish... money I was going to put into a bigger safe and suppressors to be a nice neighbor became more guns. Kind of the opposite effect they were going for.

Indeed. I've been thinking of writing a thank-you letter to Turd Ferguson and the "seattle supreme court".
On the one hand, as a citizen, it's disgusting to see a natural right impaired like this (see what I did there), but I have to say, as an avid shooter, it's been sheer joy aquiring everything we can. It's been a blast! We have more new guns than we ever thought we would this time last year. And now we're having a heck of a time shooting them, carrying them, and just plain enjoying them. I nominate Turd Ferguson as gun salesman of the year. Somebody should make a plaque and send it to him. _________________ I'm a Morlock, in a land of Eloi... |

I’m sure the people behind the new laws expected a spike in sales prior to the laws going into effect. Ultimately it’s a drop in the ocean and we need to get this straightened out. I’m not against any and all legislation, but I am against stupid legislation (which I consider most of the recent stuff to be).
