...for $10 billion. Which is like an infinite number of pesos. They blame several gun manufacturers for the cartel violence increased homicide rate in their shithole country, saying they are "actively facilitating the unlawful trafficking of their guns to drug cartels." And thanks to Smith & Wesson settling with the Sandy Hook families, they may have some ground to stand on. Or at least, they can sway public opinion to think they do. Maybe if they cleaned up their own house, they wouldn't have this problem. Better yet, maybe we should traffic harder, and get more guns down there, but into the hands of normal citizens. Even cartel members don't like being shot. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/mexico-sues-several-weapons-manufacturers-us-court-2021-08-04/

U.S. gun makers say Mexico's lawsuit represents 'clash of national values'https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/us-gun-makers-say-mexicos-lawsuit-represents-clash-national-values-2021-11-23/Quote: BOSTON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Gun makers including Smith & Wesson (SWBI.O) and Sturm, Ruger & Co (RGR.N) on Monday asked a U.S. judge to dismiss a lawsuit by the Mexican government accusing them of facilitating the trafficking of weapons to drug cartels, leading to thousands of deaths.
The gun manufacturers in a brief told a federal judge in Boston that Mexico was seeking through its $10 billion lawsuit to punish them for sales of firearms "that are not only lawful but constitutionally protected in the United States." ... The companies argued Mexico failed to establish its harms were attributable to them and that a U.S. law, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, protected gun manufactures from lawsuits over their products' misuse.
While the companies said Mexico believed the law does not apply to its claims, "the plain text of the statute forecloses that theory." What I find amusing is in the article above (that I left cold) the Mexican government is arguing that the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act doesn't apply because the 'injury' occurred in Mexico and Mexican law apply
Ok, so Mexico wants a US court to uphold Mexican laws in the US. Why don't they try the companies in Mexican court? Oh, or they could just ban the import of firearms
I think it would be awesome if all gun manufactures stopped selling anything to Mexico

Why would cartel members buy sporting guns from the US when they can get full auto weapons without serial numbers from China by the container load? Think an arsenal built AK goes for under $200.

There are a certain amount of guns that do end up in the cartel hands, only because the border is super porous going into mexico. If they actually had a border security force half as underfunded as our our own they would probably stop most of the guns coming from America. But yeah the cartels are getting their hands on HK MP7's while HK is telling the american consumer to pound sand. I have no sympathy for their BS.
