Presidents are not supposed to create legislation. That’s not the role of the executive branch. The executive branch is purely supposed to enforce the laws passed by the legislative branch. So instead, Buyden’s pushing the “executive action envelope” as far as he can, to win points with his increasingly-far left, liberal base and because he figures with a democratic majority house and senate and a SCOTUS that’s scared of its own shadow, that any tyrannical edict he passes will become de facto law.

What all the elites are forgetting, is that the second amendment is not a privilege granted by government. It’s not even a right granted by government. It’s a recognition of the natural right to self-defense that predates all governments. Does a gazelle need permission to use its horns against a lion? And further, any attempt to remove this right not only violates the social contract between citizens and their government, it also makes any in government who support it violators of their oath to uphold the Constitution. Beyond that, it has zero legal merit as any law that violates the Constitution is null and void according to Marbury vs. Madison.

If this was really about saving American lives, they’d start with the hard facts. Most deaths in the US are from things like heart disease, cancer, etc. Even if we were just looking at gun deaths, almost all are either suicide or gang/drug related murders. Less than 1/3 of 1% of all gun deaths are from mass shootings. And last I checked, murder is already illegal.

Not one person’s life will be saved by classifying pistol braces as an NFA item.

And “red-flag laws”? Can you think of a law more set up for rampant abuse? A pissed off ex-wife? A disgruntled employee? A kid brainwashed to think all guns are evil? Anyone could anonymously report you as a threat and you instantly lose your rights without a day in court, without evidence being presented, without legal representation, without even a heads up that it’s happening until SWAT shows up at your house. This violates pretty much everything the original colonists detested about the Intolerable Acts short of quartering federal troops in your home.

Does this do anything to help people who are depressed and considering suicide?
Does this do anything to alleviate gang violence?
Does this do anything to deport illegal aliens who have committed violent crime?
Does this do anything to remove from the street the drugs that many violent crimes are being committed over?
Does this do anything to help the mentally-ill and homeless that commit many violent crimes?

Let’s call this what it is: a tyrannical edict to strip the people of their natural rights under the guise of protecting them.
