Have a 96' Cummins 4x4 long box that I would like to get an estimate for a flat bed. All of these online sites want you to call and actually talk to somebody, even though they're a bolt on application from most outfits. I'd like to potentially have a customer flat bed made that would be a flat bed with stake pockets so I could make sides to keep it usable for dump runs and what not, but would also need tool boxes mounted below since I do own a mobile mechanic business and need somewhere to house my tools. I don't know that it makes a difference, but the truck will have a 5" lift on it when it comes time to do the flat bed. That may make it easier or more difficult depending on how it's put together I guess. If you are a fabricator and might be willing to take on this kind of project, or know of anyone, please let me know.
Thank you!

Have you checked with IDA(independent dealer accessories) in Kent? They did custom flatbeds exactly like you are describing when I used to work there.

What size tires are you going to run? I had 37s with a 2" coil spacer. 5" lift needs a ton of modifications to make it right. I ended up with the DT Profab long arms even with the 2" lift.

would love to do something like this but for several reasons im sure its a bad fit....... that being said you might check state surplus, craigslist (id search several states close to home) to maybe find a bed (something that resembles a base you can work with) that would suit your needs and maybe a direct fit for truck and make mods from there
Steel, boxes, fabrication, wiring, powdercoat etc, let alone labor is not gonna be cheap and finding a good starting point could save tons !!!

Fabshop in Edgewood or Dieselwerx in Cle Elum. They both do flatbeds every day.

Comes with new control arms and springs to correct the geometry as well as a carrier bearing drop and reverse pitman arm to keep the steering correct as well. I looked at a lot of kits and for the price, the Zone kit is hard to beat for what you get along with a lifetime warranty.

That's the one. I needed new control arms and shocks anyway which would damned near cost me as much as the entire lift kit.

You will at least need control arm drop brackets, the lower links should be close to level as possible. What are you doing for the front driveline? What tire size do you want?
On the flatbed what is your budget? Finding an older one that someone removed and fixing ot up might be best.

X2 for the Fab Shop. He's helped me over my racing years bending new pipes, or a 15 minute advance notice needing anti submarine hoop and cell plate. Had one of his modified boxes on a shop truck and also a flat bed. Good honest work.
