I've a tree that's gonna be an issue. Anyone here do that kind of work, or any good suggestions? I put in a message to Bobby Smith as well, but with the Holiday upon us, I'm not sure I'll hear from him for a few days. Tree is located in Nisqually, just south of Dupont.

Old growth might be able to help you, or know someone who can.

Yes he does, I've worked with him before, great guy, knows what he's doing. I was gonna text him, but saw you got ahold of him.

What was the quote? I would guess $2200 to get it on the ground. Another $1000 to remove the branches and rounds. $400 to grind the stump. Another $200 to haul away the stump grindings.

Knowing Stokes negotiating ability... I am going to guess $1,800 cash, big bills. Leave some debris on the ground that he and his kids can take care of.

Bob's rates are market, and I did not negotiate. He's a good guy, does good work, and I only want to see him thrive. This kind of work is pretty expensive at that. By the time I'm out of this property, I'll have made my profits, I'm not going to deny a friend his.

At that, my daily driver cost less. But, you're right, D. Normally, I'd grind this down hard with folding money and flexibility.

I can do it for a case of green tip if you don't care about that little shed getting flattened, and you do the clean up.

Heh heh heh, just kidding - that is a nasty piece of work, because all the heartwood will be rotted out. Giant gun barrel with no structural integrity at all. You might be able to cut some nice burl slabs from the base though.
