Went in there today to buy some ammo and Chris has some old Colt revolvers and pistols in really nice shape. Lady smith, Colt .25acp, and some other odd ball ones.

Has anyone ever seen a full sized single shot Colt .22lr with real ivory grips? I didn't even know those existed.

Edited since the Mini is sold.

I swung by there today to buy some AR stuff, and saw a SWEET mini 14 on the wall for $400 and an older Ruger 10/22 for $250.

If that Mini is there when I go back on Friday, it's mine.

Good price on the Mini. I picked one up a few years ago for $250 in a private sale (back before being a free man was criminalized) - hands down the best gun deal I've ever found. They're fun guns to shoot - everyone should have one.

I concur. I've currently got two, have owned another that I stupidly traded a long time ago (had a gorgeous tiger striped stock). In a SHTF situation, I'm pretty sure I'd rather have a Mini-14 than an AR.

$400 is a great deal for a Mini if it's in decent condition. $250 for a 10/22 on the other hand seems a bit high unless it comes with a bunch of stuff BX-25's or something.

The 10/22 is the older metal receiver model and its in fantastic shape.

They do look nice - both of them! Probably won't last long.

That's an older model mini, stainless too! Just be aware it's harder to mount a scope, but the irons are pretty good by themselves. I've got the same model except blued. My ranch rifle is stainless though.

Don't bother trying to run aftermarket magazines in it. You'll end up gnashing your teeth in frustration. And if the three that come with it aren't OEM, make a lower offer since you're going to have to replace them.

Yeah, not a "bad mini". Just understand that the newer, heavier barrel mini's will get you better accuracy. (~$700)

The one I have now is older, has the lighter barrel but, as mentioned still a lot of fun! :thumbsup2:

And David is right about the mags. You can spend time shooting, or spend a lot of time tweeking mag feed lips. :facepalm2:
