For those of you that don't already have a card that gives you money back on gas, should check out Gasbuddy. Sign up, and they send you a debit type card that works only at gas stations. The first time you use it you get $.15 back per gal immediately. After that you get the usual $.05.
https://www.gasbuddy.com/

BTW it's not cashback at the end of the year, but an immediate 5 cent discount. You won't see it at the pump. When you get home, and check your email there will be a receipt in your inbox showing how much you actually paid.

Interesting. So if I use it with my Costco Visa card I'll get the Gasbuddy rebate and the 4% or does Gasbuddy not allow that?

No, it's actually tied to your checking account, so you can't use a rewards credit card.

But Costco rebate is tied to your membership not the card itself.

My Costco rebate is linked to the credit card (I don't pay for the elite $120 membership)
I guess I'll stick to the credit card

There are two different rewards....one is a minor one with Executive Membership, based on volume of sales on your membership...

The one Classic was mentioning is the 4% you get back with charges actually made on The Costco Citi Visa Card. Since that isn't through your checking account, the GasBuddy discount wouldn't work.

The Gasbuddy article I referenced also discusses that they may be implementing an annual fee, which would further diminish its benefit.

I have an Executive Business membership and a Citi Costco Visa.
Think if I buy diesel from Costco, get 2% off from Costco and 4% off from Citi Costco Visa (fuel) on top of the prices which are always cheaper than Safeway or QFC.
If I buy fuel anywhere else on my Costco Visa, still save 4%.
I gave my sister my +1 card so I also get 2% on everything she buys too, which is a lot.
Pays for the $120 membership and then some.
I keep sending her links to sales so she buys more stuff at Costco. :thumbsup2:

But if you work the Safeway/QFC rewards you can get up to a buck a gallon off.

Unfortunately no Safeway/QFC in Lawton. I used to get $1 off all the time.
