Damn you! I still need a new slicer and grinder. This just may be what it takes for the boss to let that happen.

Also, in conjunction, I hunt, fish, can food, cook a lot, host a lot, etc. So really, these things are not only necessity, they get used and get our money's worth out of them.

Well, except for the fishing. And hunting. And catering. Ok yeah, they’re toys.

I'm sick and tired of buying ground anything from the store and would rather do my own w/the beef/chicken/pork/etc I'll be getting this fall.

It was half frozen Pork butt pieces and it chewed right through it, hardly a bog unless it hit a harder chunk and feeding too fast. I was really impressed with it, and that was with a pretty fine grind plate. Nice unit for sure!

Before you grind, you need to cut your meet into chunks small enough to fit down the throat of the grinder. For me, that means chunks that are maybe 2" square. You could buy a bigger grinder with a bigger throat so you wouldn't need to cut the chunks as small, but it's really not a big deal for the amount that most of us will do at home. I'm a whore for gadgets, and I am always trying to justify getting that next level up. In this situation though, I'm perfectly happy with my 500W grinder and don't feel any need to get something larger.
