Made for Germany, but they passed idiotic mag laws also, so we can have them……….for now. I ordered a set of each plus 3, 60 round sure fire mags that you get 10% off each 3 or more. https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/20-P ... 4p9054.htm40 rounders https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/20-P ... 4p8950.htm30 rounders.

Anyone have experience with these? I'm intrigued if they're of decent quality.

I'd be in to share a box of 30 rounders with someone between Seattle and Tacoma.

Was considering these but noticed they're non-BHO, which isn't my preference. Still a great price if you don't care about BHO functionality. From the specifications: Follower: Standard Soviet Style (NON-BHO)

Well, they were pretty slow to ship, but mine finally arrived today. Here's a box of 20: I don't know anything about them, but they look nice.

RTG took 6 days to ship, and then UPS delivered my order to the wrong address. When I contacted RTG about it, they said they'd look into it but I may need to make a claim with UPS. The next day they said they sent a replacement order to me, and to let them know if my original order ever arrives and they'd send a prepaid label to send it back. Absolutely no issues with RTG, I liked them before, I like them even more now after they shipped a replacement due to UPS's fuck up.

I bought 20 each of the 30and 40 round mags. All of the mags locked up tight in a palmetto ak-103 series.

My box of 40 came with the surefire mags two days ago. Slow for sure but packed and shipped well.
The 30 rounders were out of stock, but back in now.

Allow me to delivery an armchair opinion on these mags, After seeing the positive reviews here and then looking into it elsewhere, i decided to order a couple GEN 2 30RD WINDOW MAGS: https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47-30RD-7-62x39-GEN2-WINDOW-MAGAZINE-W-2-FOLLOWERS-NOW-AVAILABLE-4p8170.htmOne thing i didn't notice until they arrived, is that they do not have steel feed lips. Anymore this alone will stop me from knowingly ordering certain polymer AK magazines. Sure re-enforced lugs are nice, but in my exp not as important as steel lips - i've yet to have lugs wear down or break prior to something else becoming a problem. (re: poly) I could kinda care less about BHO, can kinda go either way but prefer no BHO anymore, these come with an extra non-BHO follower but i'll probly just leave the BHO in On the left, AC Unity GEN 2, on the right Bulgy (w/steel lips) The next thing i noticed is how low the rounds sit in the magazine, this has to be the lowest sitting of any mags i have, although i didn't exhaustively compare, a quick glance at others (steel+poly) this is noticeable. I just can't imagine the lack of round exposure here not being a problem for some AKs On the final 30th round being put in (loaded/reloaded 2x) there's barely a fraction of measurement left in this magazine/spring, a solid dead end with no give at all after that. I guess because the rounds sit so low there probably wouldn't be an insertion problem on full mag, one would hope, but the hard dead-end after the 30th seems a bit different compared to others. I cycled a mag and noticed some shavings from what i believe were the lips, but it seems after about the initial 5-7 rounds that dissipates. The low-seated rounds don't seem to be a problem but that wasn't a real test either. I was kind of excited about these and had considered ordering more before seeing them in person, but after arrival i'm definitely stopping here and sorry to say i wouldn't recommend these based on above. I realize these aren't the GEN1's but i tend to doubt the GEN1's are better than the 2's An alternative to consider is the bulgy steel lipped mags, they're kinda my go-to value poly mags.

^ As far as the height of the round, I wonder how much of that is a height difference, and how much is simply how much of the round is visible from the rear due to the different depth of the cutout on the back? For reference, here’s a pic of a round in my Gen 1 mag.

Box of mags showed up. They completely covered this thing in tape, was definitely not going to come apart. Mags look great. They just barely fit in though. My PSA AK is TIGHT. Will have to gently file them a bit.
