Probably junk with spyware, but will work plenty well for a 3D printer monitoring cam.

Amazon plans to roll out a program that affects these cams, and those 'personal assistance' thingies, security cams, etc... Whatever they have that connects to the internet.

I think it's called "next door".

What it does is ties everyone together.

If your wifi goes out, it will piggyback you off of the neighbor's wifi.

Opposite, if their wifi goes out.

You'll actually have to find the settings and intentionally turn them off, if you want to opt out. They are going to do it automatically.

You can imagine the possible security problems. Let alone letting your neighbor use your wifi for free and without a password...

Has anyone received one yet? Mine shows shipped a month ago. Feedback on Amazon is not encouraging..

Mine says it shipped on June 14th and is expected to delivery by July 23rd.
Considering the price, I don't think we can be too upset about long shipping...
Plus, if it never shows up, we've lost nothing, IMO.

Ours is supposed to show up on the 23rd as well. Not holding my breath for what we'll get, but as pointed out, we've really lost nothing but a bit of time if it's a no-show or useless crap.

A little funny, though. You know how Amazon shows a picture of the product in your order screen? My picture is a USB charger, not webcam.

It's called "Sidewalk". It's an Alexa and Ring setting. Disable it in one, it's disabled in both. They announced it was coming about 6 months ago.
