I know these have a big name, charity, world wide work and such, but I never see these as versatile as the katadyn or Sawyer filters since you need to stay next to the water source to filter and drink it.

I still think wasting money on the life straw would be better spent on the Sawyer Mini. No matter if they gave them away for free.
