True story, Lost a wheel bearing in Twin Falls last year. I'm a pretty good mechanic but didnt bring a 10 ton press for a bearing swap by the side of the road. Its a Press on/off, not a three bolt new fangled easy front bearing . Strut out and into a press is what itll take to swap the bearing.

I call Honda, Twin Falls.

Ask how much to swap the front bearing. I'm thinking it'll be good if its less than 400 (3 hrs at 125/hr).....I had the bearing. I bought it thinking I could find a machine shop somewhere.

The Honda Dealer charged me ~$145 tax included to swap. They have a special press. No removal of strut necessary. 1.5 hr labor.

Do the math.

First I'd guess they don't pay the mechanic 45/hr and they're honest enough not to fuck over a customer from out of town.
