Of any of the Left options he actually stands the best chance at being a competitive opponent. Given his age, the scary part would be who he selects to be his VP. I can see him picking clinton, and IF he wins, he mysteriously dies while in office allowing her to be president. Bernie had a lot of support out there, and I feel a lot of Trump supporters have been turned off by some of the things both the Republican party has been doing, as well as the recent shutdown, I think some people might be easily persuaded to vote democrat. It should be interesting to see how things shake out, especially considering how many democrats have said they are running. The democratic party infighting will be spectacular.

I actually think the complete opposite here. With the constant barrage of "Bombshell Evidence" against Trump that amounts to nothing, the unfair trial of Cavanaugh, and now the recent fake assault by two "white" Nigerian guys in MAGA hats I would bet that there are some Dems that are leaping off the sinking ship.

I know this works both ways, perhaps my phrasing of "a lot" might not be quite on par with reality, but more for a lack of a better term while I was typing this on my phone in the bathroom. My experience from Republican people I know is that they have been unhappy and talking about not voting Trump in the next election. They cited the direction some Republicans have been going compared to their own beliefs, and the shutdown affecting their paycheck. I'm just mentioning what I've read and heard from some friends of mine, YMMV. But the election is down the road a while, I'm sure they will come back around.

President Trump could do so much better in his tweets and speeches IMHO. He is still so much better than his opponent last time and any announced opponent so far.

The real mysterys to me are these
1. Why can't the USA produce two good candidates?
2. Why does 1/2 of the two parties always produce candidates so shitty that we worry about descending into a civil war to defend our Natural or God-given Rights? And the other 1/2 leaves us wondering?
