There is supposed to be some kind of program built into google and youtube that watches what you choose to search for, and what vids you tend to watch...

Which then starts to feed you results according to that bias.

If so, you can imagine what 'bias' I would probably be fed, right? And you'd probably be correct.

I'll admit, I tend to TRY to make searches, and vid choices that might make the 'bias machine', decide to feed me more balanced stuff. Rather than just lean heavily toward one bias or the other.

But still, as you can guess, it generally tends to feed me the conservative stuff. Maybe because I can stand to watch more than a couple minutes of the conservative stuff, and can't with the lib stuff.



All that said, I am now curious why I seem to be fed more and more of the far left stuff, in my recommended videos, and/or in google searches, the closer we get to mid terms.

I mean, the change is enough, to be obvious.

For instance, I now keep seeing recommendations for vids that claim Trump is evil this or that. Obama's speech about crazy Trump. Kavanaugh has been called out by a bunch of his friends as having lied under oath. The republican war on voting rights. Etc, and a bunch more etc.

This is my own observation. And as I said, it is becoming more and more blatant.



You know, it's almost like Google, (Owns youtube, of course), is trying to influence me toward the left just before the mid terms...

I have seen/heard claims that they were doing this. But I have pretty much ignored the claims until now, because if they were doing it before, it wasn't so blatantly obvious. Now it simply can't be ignored.

I wouldn't put ANYTHING past the leftist garbage in this country anymore... it's really sad too...

Once they purge all or most conservative and gun related content, they really have little else to show to you other than the far left drivel.

I tend to get a lot of crap I have no interest in. No matter how many times I get rid of it, it always comes back.

Some of that could be due to what the content providers (and by that I mean the people making/uploading the videos) put in their descriptions and meta tags. At some point they figure out that those tags and descriptors don't need to match the content. If they get more hits when they put "lesbian college porn" in the tag rather than "carrot cake recipe," guess what the less scrupulous among them will do? And people looking for horny co-eds suddenly find dessert items in their search selections.

This is already a common ploy on Twitter. When a tag starts trending -- use Hurricane Michael as an example -- it isn't too long before aspiring rappers and porn accounts start to use that same tag. Now when you type in the tag #HurricaneMichael, along with seeing photos from locals and reports from the news stations, you'll also see posts about some new album one of these "marketing geniuses" has coming out soon, or a link where you can talk with hot Russian women. Search systems can work really well, but they're also very easy to manipulate.

Hmm... I don't go to any special effort to get types of responses.
I just do searches for keywords and then pick and choose.

I do not recognize any left leaning videos pop up in my recommended list. Maybe the algorithm takes into account my main email address and says "don't waste your time with this one."

i think the suggested videos are based on the "category" of the videos you watched
on my comp i'm logged in to the youtube account, and it mainly shows the suggestions based on what channels i'm subscribed to, or at least they are at the top of the list
it gives some suggestions/channels but they're very few, and it looks like once i "X" out of some of them then they really cut down on random crap

on my TV youtube is not logged in and it gives me all kinds of crap mixed between what i watch and what kids watch
