After a bit of confusion at the last NY Shoot, I finally reconnected with a fellow WaGunner who wanted three bolt action pens made for him. Top: Plum (wood contributed by another member, gorgeous stuff). Middle: Mpingo (African Blackwood) split down the sap / heartwood line. One of my favorite woods to turn. Bottom: Black Locust burl. This one was a real pain to finish, and the keen observer may notice actual holes all the way through to the barrel. I might get this one returned (I've given him the option if he doesn't like it, I still think it's pretty). The surface, while smooth, is still ...um...bumpy. The little eyes were jumping out of the wood, and changing the surface as I worked. This took a long time to repair and get finished. Sometimes problem children become your prettiest examples. Getting ready to press:

Very nice, how much does one of those go for, if you don’t mind me asking.

Outstanding work David!
I like that Mpingo. Do you have a page/site with pictures of some of the different woods you use?

The handles customized: Carbon fiber for one, he used to race then grew up. Fishing rod theme, he's constantly out on the water. Skiing theme, this guy was an alternate for the US Team. Gun themed, 27 years in the Army and NG this guy is a gun and tactics nut. Just thoughts I'm having.

Those are cool. You wouldn't happen to have a lever action, or semi-auto action variety?

Let me check my suppliers and see if there are new things available. I think I still have a couple of the old school and newer style razor kits around (they didn't sell very well, so I stopped bothering). Wetpaperbag wrote: Those are cool. You wouldn't happen to have a lever action, or semi-auto action variety? How about revolver? I have four kits in stock that I've been wanting to try. I'll check my suppliers with regards to the lever action & semi-auto variants. Here's an example of what's available for lever action pens: lamrith wrote: Outstanding work David!

At the bottom of each of my posts are two links (the FB one is sort of broken, it's just a default image, which I need to fix again), one to our site: http://www.uniquetreen.com and another to our FB page (much more up to date) at: http://www.facebook.com/uniquetreen

Kinda late - wanted to make sure he got my payment. Yeah, these were for me. I actually like the "texture" feel on the Black Locust burl. I'll keep that one! I can't decide which of the others to send to Chris... I don't really want to give one up! Great work, Sir!!
