We can thank the "Tree Huggers" of the size of these fires. Every time they hear that there will be any logging, dead timber harvesting due to bug damage, or controlled burns to clear all the underbrush, they protest, bring lawsuits, call legislators and congressmen. They do everything in their power to stand in the way of good forest management and what Nature has been doing ever since the beginning of "Trees". Sooner or later "Nature" is going to get it's way.

Quoted for truth...very succinct and accurate...

Your coal reference (not quoted) reminds me of driving across Czechoslovakia in the early 90's. They used coal for heat, and we would put napkins across our nose and mouth inside the car as we drove (windows up) We would get to our next stop, and the napkins would be covered in dust icon_eek

Very good point. :thumbsup2:

House filters are probably the most overlooked maintenance item in a house...Usually changed every 6 months, it never hurts to have a couple on hand..

I like a campfire, but you can move if the smoke bothers you. I spent too much time outside yesterday and I'm paying for it today.

I'm in Chelan right now. Smoke is so thick you can't see across the lake. The sun is just a dark red orb. My car has a nice dusting of fine white ash. Oddly, breathing the smoke doesn't seem to be bothering anyone around here.

Sunday there was a smoky haze over Liberty Bay near Poulsbo.
Never seen that before.

Started getting a whole lot more smokey here, about an hour ago. Worse as time goes on.

Must be coming down from stevens pass.

Overlooking Dana’s Passage / Boston Harbor from my dads deck. Can barely see Squaxin Island.

Just tell him you're alive and go to church, and you should be OK....

Pray he doesn't bring out his boomstick.

Or is it the ghey one always playing with animals and putting them in his balls?

Felt like sunset all day
