Suffered from a diving board accident in his first year at Harvard medical school, C5 separation and was a quadriplegic.
Went through medical school face down in a sling having nurses turning the pages for him.

I always liked his insight.

Krauthammer was injured in a diving board accident during his first year of medical school. He sustained injuries that left him paralyzed below the neck and required him to be hospitalized for 14 months.[4][5] He has used a wheelchair since the accident. He remained with his Harvard Medical School class during his hospitalization, graduating in 1975. From 1975 through 1978 Krauthammer was a resident in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital, serving as chief resident his final year. During his time as chief resident he noted a variant of manic depression (bipolar disorder) that he identified and named "Secondary Mania." He published his findings in the Archives of General Psychiatry.[10] He also coauthored a path-finding study on the epidemiology of mania.[11]

In August 2017, Krauthammer had a cancerous tumor removed from his abdomen, which was thought to have been successful, but on June 8, 2018, he stated in The Washington Post that the cancer had returned and that doctors had told him he had only a few weeks to live

Very sad. He is one of the most brilliant Fox contributors. His research, facts and data are 2nd to none.

He was hospitalized 10 months ago, and was notably absent from Fox for this entire time. This is sad, but not unexpected, news.

CK was one of the best conservative voices and minds in the media. I almost always agreed with him, and even when I did disagree he was very persuasive.

His life story is remarkable. As mentioned above, he was paralyzed from a stupid diving accident as a college student, and managed to reach a pinnacle of achievement in spite of the daily hardships he endured. A real story of impressive achievement in the face of obstacles.

Yup.

Let it be said,

That does say a lot right there.
