Weed going legal. "House votes to decriminalize marijuana at federal level Bill passes 220-204, with three Republicans voting yes and two Democrats voting no".

I like the freedom part. Hate the victimless crime bullshit and the fact that our insurance rates go up with pot usage. They should just call it a tax scheme gone awry.

Never should have been illegal.

Should be interesting to see if the feds put a 'sin tax' on it like alcohol and tabacco... you know --- another 20% tax on top of the state tax rate..... I would bet this is their plan --- can't stop it.... so you might as well tax the hell out of it.

Russian rich guys are often maligned as "oligarchs".
Does this term also apply to Gates, Zuckerberg, Buffet, Pichai et al?

I have to admit I don't know much - if anything - about these russian oligarchs.... But is seems that if you are a uber rich russian business man ---- you are automatically labeled as being corrupt..... I'm sure some of them are, but I would bet that there are many are not.
Looking at BillyG and Zuck --- and many more of the Wall Street oligarchs --- you can say with certainty that they are truly corrupt.
I give Buffet and Musk a pass at this point --- they seem to be pretty 'honorable' people from what I've seen.

Interesting and germane to the subject of oligarchs in this 2018 article:
"Americans falsely look to these oligarchs to solve our problems, allowing them to amass more power. "
(again, I'm not vouching for the source or the opinions)

The concept of "bidding wars" within the housing market is most probably a construct of industry operators (RE agents and brokers) who control the buying and selling offers and bids. True, the public has accepted the game, but it is a rank smelling prospect to allow a relatively small community of commission driven actors to have closed and private "negotiations" and conversations on one's behalf.
