I received this email from ALLIANCE FOR GUN RESPONSIBILITY a few minutes ago. They must be getting desperate for more $$$ or received new marching orders from Soros.
Now, something else that makes me go WTF? I haven't heard a peep out of them in over TWO YEARS! Look at the parts I highlighted. Can you say fraud? Quote: Another community devastated by senseless gun violence. Another celebration cruelly cut short by a mass shooting. Another reminder that we cannot exist in this country without fear. On Saturday night, a gunman opened fire at a dance studio in Monterey Park, CA killing 10 people and wounding at least 10 others. It was the deadliest mass shooting since 19 students and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX last May. Details are still emerging about this attack. But we know that it happened in a predominantly Asian American community at a time of increasing racism and hate-fueled violence against the AAPI community. We are grieving alongside the survivors, their loved ones, and all those directly impacted by this tragedy. We are grieving for the entire Monterey Park community, whose sense of safety was shattered. And we are grieving for every member of the AAPI community who woke up yesterday looking forward to celebrating the Lunar New Year, and instead was met with news of this unthinkable horror. We are all too familiar with this uniquely American tragedy. This was the 33rd mass shooting of 2023 HUH???. There have since been at least three more. We are heartbroken and we are angry. But we are not hopeless. We know that there are steps we can take to prevent needless bloodshed like this. We are determined to do everything in our power to create the safer, more just future we all deserve. I hope you will join us today in pledging to channel your grief into action. "mass shooting" is a fluid term. The antis define it as 3+ victims, iirc.
FBI doesn't have a term, just one for mass murderer, which is 4+ murders. "Active shooter" is what they call what we would consider mass shooter (school, theater, library, etc). Anti-gun ppl & groups have conflated and manipulated the term. Most rational people think of mass shootings as an event where the shooter targets a large group known or expected to be defenseless (school, concert, movie theater, etc). A drive-by shooting of someone's picnic in the suburbs of Chicago is counted as a mass shooting, but also gang violence. Gang violence is the majority of "mass shootings" yet antis don't acknowledge that. They are the idiots who included one of the Boston Marathon bombers as a victim of gun violence. <roll eyes> And yes, the politicizing by the left of this recent event is tragically hilarious. "Assault weapons have no place on the streets!" It was a banned firearm in CA to begin with, and also not a rifle they equate to evil. "Anti-Asian hate stirred by white supremacists" and it was a 72 yo Asian guy. False flag or not... the details are wrong for their narrative. |

And now there's a brace of articles with misinformation about suppressors today. Of more concern are the articles and conversations I've been hearing twisting him being older, his possession of an illegal weapon, and Cobray going out of business years ago meaning that he grandfathered it in, and something needs to be done about those dangerous loopholes.
My wife and I spoke with friends last night who live in both places (and have with their families for a few generations, all of whom are of Chinese heritage but are not "subhuman freaks" nor do they deserve to fall into the ocean) and there is quite a shitstorm of narratives being pushed by local government. The local Chinese community is very concerned about where the misrepresentation is going to lead, given these tragedies are likely the result of the lack of interest in the real social issues in exchange for concentration of power. |
