This is most unfortunate for the renter of my former primary residence in California. I am a gun owner and used to live in California, that information probably list me as a gun owners at my CA property, which is now a rental. So if someone breaks into that property looking to steal a gun, they're going to be disappointed. I'm not sure if my renter is a gun owner or not, didn't ask, but I suspect not. Married couple with 2 kids.

There are a lot of concealed carry holders in California. If your Chief Law Enforcement Officer allows it, you can get one. In one locality where I was applying for a job, the local jail closed and the Chief of Police was signing off of all applicants (without felonies) that had a local address or job. And other outlying areas outside of the blue cities.

I was stationed there from 2012 to 2015 and bought a gun while I was there. The impact of this reaches beyond the borders of California. If you are in the same situation or know people who are I encourage you to write your local Representatives and the ones in D.C. to request investigations into what happened. What California has done clearly demonstrates the horrible impact registrations can and will have on peoples lives.
