if this were an isolated instance of "individuals' hesitating... commission's report on the parkland shooting...starting at 1419L wrought with errors in judgement, e.g., 1. took an uber to school with firearm seen by school monitor who did nothing! 2. 1421L student saw Cruz w/firearm and was told to run...which he did! 3. Cruz never entered a classroom but shot those he saw who were standing up! 4. numerous times the cams failed to record 'due to dust issues' 5. LE on site were not advised there was a significant time delay in the cam system 6. By 14:22:57, all students who were on the second-floor hall concealed themselves into classrooms leaving the second-floor hallway empty. No individuals were shot on the second floor. This is also the time at which the fire alarms shut off? 7. While Cruz was shooting, Deputy Peterson and Security Specialist Greenleaf fled south 8. At 2:23:48, Cruz reached the alcove for classrooms 1231 and 1232 (still on the second floor). Deputy Peterson had reached the location near the northeast corner of Building 7 where he would remain for approximately the next 48 minutes.you're now four minutes into the established timeline...and it goes down hill from there. 14:27:03 to 14:27:10 [Cruz's rampage is over - 8 minutes!] At that point, there were eight BSO deputies on or in the immediate area of campus. In their interviews each of these deputies said heard they gunshots: Sergeant B. Miller, Deputy S. Peterson, Deputy E. Eason, Deputy M. Kratz, Deputy J. Stambaugh, Deputy R. Seward, Deputy A. Perry and Detective B. Goolsby. None of these BSO deputies immediately responded to the gunshots by entering the campus and seeking out the shooter.
truly a fasinating and excellent read at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MSDHS/CommissionReport.pdfsandy hook's event, allegedly "Lanz fired 154 rounds in less than five minutes, claiming 26 lives." https://www.britannica.com/event/Sandy- ... l-shootingas for casting dispersions towards LEs...tis specifically aimed at those who fail in the performance of the duties.

This. I don't hate on the local LE guy doing his job and duty. I hate on clowns who under-perform and the ATF and FBI for striving to deny freedoms, spying and malfeasance.

Depending on yourself to defend your family has never been more important than now. I'd want to know how many of those officers actually had experience with someone shooting at them. While no excuse, I have seen people freeze in somewhat of the same situation that bullets are coming inbound. In reality, I'd rather a battle proven officer saving my kids against a nutcase shooter.

When I went from range practice to shoot on the move/tactical drills, it was night and day. I fucked up and ran dry in between going from cover to cover.. It was less than 2 seconds to get back to cover and reload but I swear time stopped, even with just paper targets. Simunitions are great training tools. Same muscle memory, and hurt enough that it's a reminder not to do whatever dumb shit you just did. I think simunition training should be mandatory.. I think if I was a cop the first thing I'd do is set up a paintball or airsoft team and turn it into a challenge/team exercise with other shifts/departments/etc.... That way you still get the adrenaline dump and while it's not the same, the fear of getting hit can be real.

Just not the same going towards someone that has the tools to end your life, then getting popped with a rubber or plastic bullet. The mental threshold is impossible to describe. It's, there's just no way to describe, you either don't or you do, nothing can explain the fear, adrenaline or just blindly following orders and the one in front of you. And once you have crossed it, is part of the reason why you see high rates of suicide of those that cannot bury those memories and nightmares, and sometimes the adrenaline withdrawal or loss of battle buddy or the brotherhood. Life is fragile, the power man has over another isn't, until it is.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... oting.htmlFormer Marine destroys his AR-15 and handgun the day after the Uvalde elementary school mass shooting as he calls for America to 'wake up to its gun problem' I guess it's more credible if you are a former Marine. Blame the tool, not the person or the industry that supports the shootings.

Blame the tool, not the person or the industry that supports the shootings. People who virtue signal aren't so virtuous.

https://www.businessinsider.com/democra ... reddit.comA House Democrat plans to introduce a bill that would hit AR-15's with a 1,000% tax — and it could pass Congress without GOP votes A recent string of mass shootings is causing Rep. Don Beyer to seek an aggressive tax on AR-15 style weapons. Beyer said his bill is a "creative pathway" to restrict AR-15 sales with only Democratic votes. It faces very steep odds against passage in an election year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_BeyerMust be a "safe" district in Virginia.
