Executive Session is a bad sign on some of these: no minutes, no public record and no outsiders allowed in the room during the session.

Sent a message directly to our Senator for the 5217 as well. Already posted opposed.
BTW got this reply from him on one of the other bills I messaged him about. That was a quick turn around! =========================================== Dear Paris, Thank you for reaching out to me regarding this bill. As a former State Trooper for three decades and Snohomish Sheriff, I recognize the importance of both community safety, and input from constituents on an important bill like this. With community engagement like this, we can work towards a safer place for all of us. I will keep an eye on the bill you mentioned comes up in the Senate, and keep your thoughts in mind. Thank you again for reaching out, and I hope you stay engaged and interested in the legislative process as this session continues. Peacefully, Senator John Lovick Vice President Pro Tempore Peace, Patience, & Kindness 44th LD

Why are we 'pro' on SB 5690?
So, you agree they can restrict your rights on campus, but want an exemption for memorials?

So, you agree they can restrict your rights on campus, but want an exemption for memorials? Yeah, make your own judgment call on that one. Me . . . I'm pro-memorial, but anti-exceptions to stupid laws.

This discussion is for another thread, so this is the last comment I'm gonna make on the subject, but it seems like wanting to support a narrowly carved exemption is acknowledging that they are right to restrict the carry of firearms... I look at it like segregation.. If they banned black people at diners, would we be OK with pushing a law that said it's OK for black people to eat at a diner on the 3rd Sunday of every month if it follows a funeral ?
