Yeah, pretty much can't find anyone who will work with people younger than 35/40 right now.

And this is the biggest impact age group.

Because you will pay for this for over 20-30 years and then get $36,000.

Biggest threat is…
No guarantee that “premiums” won’t be increase over those years.

How the fuck is ANY of this legal?

How soon before we can start the tarring and feathering?

I know people are pissed and mad.

It’s too late to be mad and bitch about why and how.

It’s Go Time as if you only have this time to Opt Out.
Once November 1 comes around. No amount of talking is going to do a darn thing.

It becomes by default YOUR LTC for LIFE.

You only have now until Oct 31st to have one signed sealed and delivered to then apply to Opt Out. The private LTC equivalent policy has to be LIVE by Nov 1, 2021.

What if you're not a WA resident but working in WA?

Good try. Lol

It’s where is your W2 is printed. Doesn’t matter where you reside. It’s where is your check cut.

So - money they take and you pay. Too bad if it doesn’t mean you benefit. It’s not an individual benefit. It’s meant for vast public. Big picture viewpoint.

My private LTC isn’t meant for Big Picture. It covers me and my wife. And I determine when I stop or continue it.

Still has to pay. Lots of my colleagues live outside WA but based here, they are all pretty upset.

So, they're paying for a service they're not legally allowed to use?

So if you want to play that scenario out. They would pay for say the 10 years. They would be “vested” and when it’s time to collect the benefit - they would move and become WA residents for the 3-6 months that they can collect. Say $3,000-$6,000 a month ($36,000 max).

But otherwise in the real world. Not really.

They haven’t said a word about this where I work. Since we are federally funded, I’m wondering if I’m going to be exempt.

It's a state taxed SS. The dems will be able to draw off of it like Fed do with SS. Pyramid scheme. When the state runs short on budget they will dip into it.

You might want to dig a little deeper into this to make sure. I work on JBLM as a Federal Employee and we are exempt from this tax and the Family Leave tax but the Contractor who works with us was told she will be paying into it. From what I understand if your pay doesn't come directly from a Federal payroll system like DFAS then you will pay into it.

At the beginning of all this, I reached out to a few companies. One of them, Bankers Life is still providing LTC insurance, but only for those 50 and over. I don't need this because (besides I am under 50) have an employer plan that beats the LTC requirements so I can exempt out.

If you want his information:
Tyson Bryant
Bankers Life - Office 5094
Direct Line: +1(253)274-5364
Email: tyson.bryant@bankerslife.com

In his email to me today:
Quote:
Dan,

Thanks so much for reaching out and being willing to refer some of your family and friends for me to help. I truly enjoy my job and love helping people avoid this outrageous tax. Like we discussed, I have attached:
1. My Bankers Bio - which talks a little bit about me and my company.
2. A flier about the new state tax, directly from the government website - wacaresfund.wa.gov
3. Our Fundamental Long Term Care brochure.
Even still, most people have not heard about this tax and will be taxed until retirement if they do not get a policy issued before November 1st. My job is to educate our community, whether they plan to buy a policy or not. I am not a high-pressure sales kind-of guy and would love to even answer questions about it to anyone concerned. My contact info is below, as well as on the bio attachment. I look forward to helping the people you care about avoid this tax.

If your employer has not signed the Association of Washington Businesses’ letter to the governor opposing this train wreck please ask them to do so.

Jacy, as an employer you can get a group plan for your employees and do a paycheck deduction.

I’m trying. Haven’t found anyone who will do a group for less than 100 employees anymore. And others who just flat out won’t do any new plans.

Jacy, I spoke with my Allstate agency yesterday and they said they do groups over 10. Jeremy Olsen is my agent.
