It has no "Frame" it's a unibody with front wheel drive in XL trim. You have to step up to the XLT for AWD. It sounds like a decent vehicle for Home Depot runs and as daily driver,(economy) but it's no Truck. The Ranger is far more capable, (and I'm a Chevy guy) but at least when you drive a Ranger people won't point and laugh. That's goes for the Hyundai Santa Cruz too. The key to this is it's cheap...
My biggest issue is why isnt it on a car chassis and with a frame(are there any)? the elco and ranchero are great if you accept their limitations, i've had my '81 thru the scales at the scrap yard with 950lbs in the back, and my dad stacked his '66 with firewood and sideboards up the side to the roof(he replaced the springs with 3/4 ton)
Didnt we learn anything with fords 1960's unibody's?
The 61-63 Ford 'unibody' truck was body on frame, unitized construction of the cab and bed, solid axle leaf sprung F&R, and the F Series was marketed as a truck---people used it as such and the body would buckle behind the cab, as the frame would flex off road, on the farm, on the job site, etc, but the body would stay rigid until it gave out.
An El Camino or Ranchero will do the same thing if used the same way.
Modern unibody construction is much stronger than even unibody construction was in the 90s. The Maverick is a great little 'truck' for most people's use. It will be fine.

I think I'll go to Tacoma this week and put my name down on the list they haven't started yet. The thing will probably be built before the '23 Mavericks are.

Dodge discontinued their eco-diesel, which was netting 30+MPG on a full size pickup.
A compact pickup with a small 2.5L diesel would give you a ton of torque, and amazing MPG. Shit, the Hilux came with an optional diesel that's pushing 40+ MPG highway..
