I started this process looking at a new truck but could not find what I was looking for. Condensing this story down, Larson offered me $57k on trade, $55k cash. Puyallup Chevy offered me $52K, and that is where I bought it my 2016 LTZ duramax. I paid $56k brand new. So I went to Sunset Chevy, spoke with Todd the used car manager and he wanted my truck so bad he gave me $60K!!!! I netted $28k in my pocket because I had taken a few equity loans out on it when I was out of work with an injury.

I did not even buy a truck from him because they were unruly priced. I bought a used 2013 Ford Raptor from a coworker for $31k and I have had to spend about $5k on servicing and add on's.

The truck market is crazy, and if you can go without a diesel until all this crayness calms down, I would defiantly do it! I am happy with my decision. I know its a big one, and I was a little sad giving up one of the best vehicles I have ever owned, but to have it for 5 1/2 years and make $4k on it was a good decision I believe. YMMV, but man, now is the time to sell.

I have been selling a ton of stuff for more than I paid for it ten years ago. Everything is crazy right now. It is an excellent time to clean out and unload stuff that isn’t getting used. My 7.3 excursion and 14k dump will likely be on the market towards the end of the summer.

How much did ya spend on interest?

Just wait a couple years and buy another one when they are over $100,000.

Many new Ford truck owners (I'm sure Chevy and Dodge too)are being contacted dealers offering them more for their trucks than what they paid. The stories are all over the truck forum interwebs.

FYI, the Japan factory that most US companies single sourced microchips too should be back rebuilt after the fire, by July.
It is rumored that Ford is still going to ship the vehicles to dealers and let them do the final installation of the computer modules and final QA checklists and then pay the dealers to do so.

They can't roll them back down the assembly lines with new trucks already on the assembly lines.
