Never ate at BWW... don't like it spicy or bone-in. Beef N Cheddar is as good as ever, I like mine with a half-packet each Arby's and Horsey sauces and a few cranks on the knob of fresh-cracked black pepper.

Fire is NOT a flavor, and "Ring of Fire" should be left to a Johnny Cash song not a bathroom experience! :P

They have boneless and the hottest I can do is mild. Anything beyond that is asking for raging shits. Speaking of fire, I still have a couple Paqui chips. I even offered some people $50 cash to eat one. They wouldn't do it. There is Carolina Reaper and Scorpion Reaper on both chips. The total Scoville units on just one chip is almost 3.2 million. There was a time in the not so distant past where I could have eaten those chips without any trouble. Doing so now will result in an ER visit.

Back to the topic. Saw some more Rivian trucks on the road last night. They have a pretty neat headlight and LED grille design that makes them easy to spot in the rear view mirror.

Long video. What's somewhat shocking, although I think most of us here have said this before, is that there hasn't been a realistic look at what it will take to replace fossil fuels. Just the basic calculations of how much energy we use and what it will take to provide that in the future haven't been done

Clearly he's just just a racist nazi... Anything he says is hateful and is violence.

Well, I have temporarily joined the EV club.

Today I dropped off my car to get some body damage repaired, and the rental car I was given is a Kia Niro plug-in EV. So, for the next four days to four weeks, however long it takes for the repair, I'll be cruisin' quietly and stressing about charging. :)

The rental is through Enterprise. They did ask me if I was okay with the electric car, so I'm sure they would have given me a gas vehicle if I had asked for it. But what the hell, it'll be fun to play with it for a bit and maybe I'll learn something!

Where and when are you going to charge it with free, clean giga watts?

That would be a fun experiment, though I’d feel a little freaked out that I couldn’t charge it at home.

You can charge at work, though, right?

Very cool. I think you will enjoy it as long as it's range it good enough to do your daily round trip needs. Did it come with a 110V or 230V charger?
110V will be very slow, so be aware. Not sure if the niro has heatpump or resistive heat, but heat in the morning can sap energy a bit. A trick is to "start" the car to preheat while still on the charger to help offset. And use seat heater if it has it.

It has an adapter so I can charge at home. The rental guy said an overnight charge will get me about 30 miles.

I probably won't be driving it too much while I have it, so just plugging in at home occasionally should cover me. If not, I guess I can go figure out the charging life at a store or whatever.

Nothing at work for me.

Well, you’re in Renton, right?

They have some at IKEA.

So, cruise down, plug in, then go inside and take a nap on a bed display :thumbsup2:

Fuck all that . . . I haven't been inside IKEA in probably 10 years. Too many people, and too much chaos.

But I might sit in the car and surf WaGuns.

Sounds about right for 110V Level 1 charger typically supplied with a new EV. 3mi/hr of charge roughly. 240V ones (Level2 in EV charger speak) push that up to 30ish mi/hr.
There is a Free charger at the safeway on 208th. It will be faster than the home one and be a L2, but still not 20min fast. But plug in, take time shopping and it will give you a good boost. I am curious what the L2 max rate is on that Niro. I know my 500e maxes at 6.6kw, my L2 charger puts out around double that.

Also. Doesn’t your generator use a 14-50? If so, thee should be an adapter for that.
