550.00 bucks for a Tomahawk?? Yeah, no way in hell. I'd buy this and with the extra 530 bucks i saved, i'd buy a firearm. https://www.lowes.com/pd/VAUGHAN-Carbon ... le/3333076

All right folks, I feel I have to chime in here. I started back grinding knives since I couldn’t afford ammo for a while now, and I wanted to do a tomahawk. I agree, 400 buck for a RMJ or winkler is a little stiff. But a bunch of makers out there started to mod store bought Axes into tomahawks. I felt I could take a stab at it. I started with one of these: Attachment: 3C508738-B5B1-4A20-961B-4D0B00796FFA.jpeg This is an estwing roofers hatchet, good steel, made in the USA and you can find one in most hardware stores for around 40-50 bucks. With the belt grinder and a 5 gallon bucket it of water, I ground it down to this: Attachment: 6F5CED4E-B0D7-499E-A607-BBCBFFA41E98.jpeg The axe edge was dull too, so now I sharpened it enough to shave with. The spike was done on request of the user, a firefighter who will do my testing of it to see if it holds up to abuse, but people do leave the hammer pall. I bought two axes, one was a riggers axe which has a slightly longer handle. But all in all 80 bucks plus some time on a belt grinder for two axes beats 400 bucks for a single axe.

I was thinking of getting a Vaughn roofer's axe, those are US mad too but they have a hickory handle for a more traditional look. I went with Estwing because they got a steel handle and the firefighter was going to try and breach car doors with it, I felt the steel would hold up to hard use prying.

So I did a thing. No not the baby that was a total different thing.
First off like anything else in this type of category... it is badass! Built solid very sharp and pointy in all the necessary places. That being said it was bloody expensive, if I were in the states I'd not have bought one if have just bought another pistol. But atleast it's something incase China ever starts shit with Japan.

This thread popped into my head. Was able to track it down. Hadn't actually spent much time looking at these, other than this thread. Love the idea of a Tactical Tomahawk. A moder day Tactical Warhammer is even better in my opinion. So I do a little looking around. Lo, and Behold! https://www.rmjtactical.com/collections ... t-snuggles
