Social media outlets that are censoring mostly conservative voices, and participating in effecting the election, should lose section 230 protections.
Change my mind.

Completely agree that Section 230 is abused by Twitter, Google, and FB.
Either be a publisher or a platform.
But not both.
Massive censorship against one viewpoint because they don't agree with it is another form of corruption.

Waguns is a platform. Moderation is limited to spam and a few rules to keep the peace. Anybody can post anything and everybody will see it.
Facebook Twitter are publishers. They pick and choose what people see, based upon their own ideals and priorities.
There is no reason to modify section 230. Simply declare Facebook and Twitter are publishers and hold them to those rules.

Can google be added to facebork, twat and the rest, or are they somehow different?
Because they OBVIOUSLY filter the results people see. In fact, they do so with the intention of affecting the election. How does that even begin to be ok?

The irony though is that if they do lose that protection the they will be required to censor even more than they do now.
Be careful what you wish for

Be careful what you wish for Or they will alter their policies to regain that protection. Even if they don't, it may give an opportunity to one or more of the smaller social network platforms to fill the void created by the change.

Facebook has banned me for one to two weeks at a time repeatedly for the last six months, even when I did NOT violate any rules.
I was banned for an entire MONTH leading up to the election. Facebook said I violated community standards by leaving a comment saying to use toy BB guns for cheap practice, I left that comment on a Facebook gun page.
There was no way to appeal any of my bans, any appeal I made would render a message that the system was down.
After the election I got another month long ban for something I don't even think I posted, something that was posted five years ago.
Facebook, Google, Amazon, Twitter, the entire media machine, they are all working together to censor and to foster fake news.
