Just for funsies, where's toilet paper fall on the spectrum?

Shit...(No pun intended) that is a low priority to me. I have lots of old t-shirts and i can always wash my hands.

Fun fact...Coffee filters people, think about it. Your finger won't poke through one and it serves double duty after making coffee.

Just make sure there are no grounds left on them after rinsing and drying for the 2nd use. :rofl9:

This is equally important, regardless of which task the filter is used for first.

My take is survival.

During a hurricane, especially in the south, gas stations that jack the price ten-fold, when there’s an order to evacuate, is price-gouging.

Similarly, when hospitals, EMTs, Fire Stations, and nursing homes, desperately need gloves and masks to save lives and protect themselves, jacking prices, is price gouging.

TP, not really survival, but, hospitals, nursing homes, etc., need it in a way, to contain disease & bacteria.

Trying to gather “whatever” out of the bathroom, or unclog the septic system, during a pandemic, could be considered, in a sense, survival.

RocketScott and usrifle, I know for a fact that you two are excellent human beings.

Which makes it hard for me to comprehend why you continue to take cheap shots at other forum members....

Give it a rest, eh?

I’ve cleaned the thread. Please do better.

It falls through the cracks.

The classifieds have some pretty impressive gouging going on, can we link to that?

I see this also and it’s bs...you shouldn’t come here to take advantage of our members with your CTD prices..take that shit to armslist..

But, I said something last week in some guys bs ammo gouging thread and was hand slapped and my post erased.... :bonghit: :thumbsup2:

You see how this is, and I’ll probably get slapped again, but if king classifieds pops in , make sure your threads locked..lol..

Market pricing for tangible goods is not different from market pricing of financial assets. Is it price gouging if you bought Microsoft stock at $25 and now you want $140? If you bought 9mm for $0.20/rd and sold it for $0.60, would that be price gouging?

Perhaps if other FFLs in my market will not stay open and accommodate transfers, maybe I should double or triple my price from $20 to $60. Would that be price gouging?

Did anyone feel like they were price gouging when they recently sold their home and buyers were bidding each other up?

Lol..triple your price... :ROFLMAO: .. and see how many loyal customers you have. I’d be going the other way, gathering more future customers... :wagwoot:  icon_eek

And by “cleaned the thread” I mean that I deleted maybe eight posts ... posts from a variety of people that contained a lot of thoughtful comments and information, but because the potshots were quoted and interspersed, poof, they all go away.

This is the kind of thing that makes me question the business practices of some online retailers.

This seller (Vizards Guns & Ammo) has 2 different listings for PPU 200-rd 7.62x51mm NATO battle packs - both identical items, but at two different prices. Notice how the cheaper of the two is Out of Stock:

Image

Then you look at the two product pages and see that one with the cheaper price that is out of stock shows SKU# SS-WH2-56215. But the one that is in stock at the higher price has SKU# Copy of SS-WH2-56215. Notice also how they both say that they ship out of Warehouse 2.

So, what's the reason for having 2 identical items (one a copy of the other) at different prices? Maybe there's an innocent explanation, or maybe it's just games. Hard to know, but it's stuff like this that makes you wonder.

Price gouging is a real crappy thing to do. Fair market increase is just capitalism at work.

Hard to really pin down a concrete definition every time, but it’s kinda like pornography. We are smart enough to know it when we see it.

My foe list increases a LOT in times like this.

You would reduce your price when there is less supply and more demand?

In my opinion, if you are jacking up prices more than 30% of essential goods and services during a crisis, your are gouging.
It isn't supply and demand at that point, it's pure profiteering.
Profiting off of panic is just wrong in my World.
Is buying a Gun or Ammunition right now an essential service? To some it is, to most of us here it's not because we already had them.
On the other hand, jacking up prices 30% or more on non essential items during a crisis is Still gouging and profiteering IMHO.
The amount of Money you have shouldn't be the gauge on whether you or your family are safe.
YMMV
