We just came back to WA..we were in Idaho for a week.
It was PURE HEAVEN in Idaho.

I would say about 1% of the people were wearing masks anywhere there..the restaurants and social gathering places like pubs and bars are open, there were parades..and people enjoying themselves shamelessly EVERYWHERE.

Meanwhile the local news was non-stop, end to end FEARMONGERING ABOUT COVID.

We figured out WHY Idaho (which i have always loved) could not be locked down or masked.
THE PEOPLE THERE ACTUALLY TALK TO EACH OTHER, and they have strong minds.

We had more interesting conversations in 5 days in Idaho than we have had in over 12 years of living in Washington state.

Well that's because the majority of the indigenous folk are "hands on" workers like Farmers.

They dont text much, and will shake a hand and look you in the eye when talking.

Metrosexuals don't know how to do that....

I'm afraid some of the Metros from here will move there and infect the area with their Uberlib shit.

Urbanization and popularity has its perils. A girl brought a gun to school; backpacks now banned

I wonder if she and her family are native spuds or recent immigrants residents of alternative origin.

My family and I made the toughest choices we've ever made. We left out jobs, sold our house, said goodbye to friends and family and moved to Idaho.

So far we're loving it here.

First thing, don't believe the news about the hospitals here. I know several nurses that work in KH, due to the rapid growth here the health system already wasn't caught up and the hospitals here were tiny and not ready for the massive influx of people who moved here the last couple years. Also, Spokane was always a retail and service hub for CDA especially for healthcare so it's disengenous when the media pretends Idaho patients are "flooding". Spokane.

Are you closer to Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston or Boise?

I think you'll still be in for the political fight of/ your life given that all of the work-from-home liberal diaspora have also movēd there.

I need to do work from home remodeling... you call me for a kitchen remodel, I order a bunch of shit and then tell you how to put it together from my computer.

CDA, renting now but we're waiting for the market to pop and then looking to maybe pick up some acreage with a place or even possibly build. From what I've seen the lion's share of those moving to ID right now are conservative refugees fleeing coastal blue states, and from looking at social media and local elections, the transplants seem more concerned and motivated to keep ID "red" than the natives.

You can tell the ID RINO establishment is worried BECAUSE THEY ARE ACTIVELY ASKING DEMS TO FALSELY REGISTER AS REPUBLICANS IN ORDER TO SABOTAGE THE GOP PRIMARIES.

Congrats! ID is a great state. Was on our "top 5" list back in 2018.

They are raising our driver license fees.
Now before you all go off the deep end and start telling, "We told you so", let's look at the rates.

Quote:
Starting on July 1, the fees for driver's licenses will increase in Idaho.
The increase is due to House Bill 161 that was passed and signed by Governor Brad Little.

Quote:
The new costs are as followed:

Class D (3-year) license — under age 18 years - $30.00
Class D (3-year) license — age 18 to 21 years - $30.00
Class D (1-year) license — age 17 years or age 20 years -$20.00
Four-year Class D license — age 21 years and older - $35.00
Eight-year Class D license — age 21 to 63 years - $60.00
Class D instruction permit or supervised instruction permit - $20.00
Duplicate driver's license or permit issued - $20.00
License classification change (upgrade) - $30.00
Endorsement addition - $20.00 Knowledge test - $5.00
Seasonal driver’s license - $44.00 4-year ID card - $15.00
8-year ID card - $25.00
The fees represent a $5.00 increase except for the cost for testing which is a $2.00 increase. Commercial driver licenses and Permits will remain the same price with no increases.

No complaints from me. :wink05:

A driver's license in Arizona costs $10 and that is a one time fee..... (unless you lose it and need a replacement). You don't get a new picture (unless you want one) until you turn 65, then you have to take a test and renew every 5 years

I'm not armed here except for daily hikes (16 miles a week) and big box stores we visit once a month (Costco)

Soo..yeah...I guess I'm always armed. lol.

Seen a lot of open carriers around CDA/Hayden, it's great. People are polite here and friendly. Best decision we ever made. Got the same size house on a better lot for 1/3 of what we were paying before.

Most of the open carry I see here is on hikes.
Inside Kow Town...most conceal and I notice them. (No...not looking at your groin....)

I'm not a fan of open carry in a city density....reason is if a nit case goes nuts..he's taking out open carry guys first. That's my opinion.
