We're not talking about police inside their patrol cars. We're talking about us, and justified use of lethal force. If you satisfy the jeopardy-ability-opportunity criteria then you *might* have a case for lethal force. But I would not shoot someone that fires pepper spray at me in a bus. I probably would not do it if my car was still protecting me (and the pistol would pop my eardrums for a long time).

Remember, every round you send downrange has a lawyer attached. Draw and shoot wisely. Understand the legal criteria beforehand, avoid problems, and know when you are justified, because that decision will affect you the rest of your life.
