I'm all about body cams. Every time footage is released, I see dollar signs. I'm up 8.6% on AAXN.

Duct tape him to a saw horse. Attach one (1) each Costco sized jar of vaseline, two cartons of Newports and two cartons of Marlboros to his back along with his former employer and job title.

Push him into gen pop.

Whoa. You've been working on this image for a while, I see. icon_eek

They still don’t know why he did it though, it’s not like he gets a free toaster with every conviction. It boggles the mind why he wanted to create that much suffering.

Exactly my point.

It's understandable (but still not OK) if they've been working on a case and the guy gets off on a technicality and they plant meth on him to get him for something....

But that wasn't the case here, it was seemingly at random... Ruining people's lives for no reason.

maybe a firearms enhancement since he was armed while doing it?

Might as well go full bore.

No, sir.

If you swear in and take the badge, you enforce the law. Fairly and impartially.

I don't care about WHY someone does something. My only concern is if the person has committed an act which breaks the law. If this is the case my job is to deliver them before the trier of fact (the Court) so that they can explain why.

If the Court says they go free, they go free. I do not make the law.

Thus, if a case is lost, the case is lost in Court--not on the street. As long as the law is within the boundaries of the Constitution of the United States, I will enforce it.

There is a special place in hell for any peace officer who bends their badge; who frames innocent people and who tramples on the rights that they have sworn to uphold.

They can go hug a running power auger. Again...I do NOT have the verbiage for how mad this makes me.

No comment. I don't want to burn up 5gb of hard drive space.

The problem with bodycams is that if you record everything, that means each cop will have a few hundred MB of data per day that will have to be stored for however long. That will include things watching him take a leak. Or talk to children... which is another issue. There are department policies in WA, but no law. So while the department might have a policy to protect the privacy of people, including victims and children, there is no law. So that footage could be released by a FOIA request and possibly a court case. The state needs to create a law to protect that footage.

$400 plus per camera, because it will need to run for up to say 16 hours (give it a cushion on an extended shift) while the IR LEDs are going at night, and the storage... probably a person dedicated to storing and maintaing all of the data... a hundred thousand per year for everything. Is everyone OK with that?
It could be less if AXON weren't such an expensive company, but they have no competition. GoPro? Even more money. The cheap Chinese Muifly I use? It won't make it through a short shift even on "standby."
