A couple questions... Didn't his lawyer say he made the payments and it wasn't authorized by Trump, and 2, statute of limitations?

The charges are not about the payments, but how they were classified and reported by the Trump organization. It is a misdemeanor in NY. If the misclassification was to cover up a crime, it is a Class E felony.
