https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Flinn She was discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1997 after an adulterous affair with the husband of an enlisted subordinate, for military offenses including disobeying a direct order from her commanding officer to break off the affair, and for twice lying under oath to investigators about having done so. The scandal received widespread media attention at the time and was discussed in a U.S. Senate hearing on May 22, 1997. Kelly Flinn worked as a commercial pilot for Trans World Airlines after leaving the Air Force.
That obit is sketchy as hell. Even Wikipedia hasn't taken note of her death, and that usually happens pretty quickly.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

Rob Skiba died on Wed. To me this was his quintessential work. He was fully engrossed in his work, and to me, at the determent to his health. But he did not have much for means and it seemed when he fell ill or injured, he healed slowly. Had quite a story, caught his first wife in bed with his best friend, broke, up, ended up homeless in Texas, and slowly got back on his feet. Has lots of great material in lots of topics.
His views as a civilian, though contrary to some of mine, was his right as a civilian. As a military leader, the man was IMHO a true leader, and he strongly relied on and encouraged input from lower level troops. I was really surprised at his thoughts on leadership he wrote about in his book, polar opposite to many leaders (military and civilian), including many current military leaders. One of my favorites (paraphrasing as I can't remember the exact quote) 'Just because you are the boss doesn't mean you know everything. Rely on the troops actually doing the work.'
RIP General C. Powell
