Ruger does make some great firearms. I love the Mini-14 and the 10/22, and what's not to like about the GP series revolver (except perhaps that they don't have the styling of the classic Colt wheel guns)?
Ruger also has great customer service.

I have 3 10/22 rifles, a 454 Casull Super Redhawk, an LCP, Mark II, 2 Mini-14's, a P85, a Single Six and used to have another Mini-14, a Mini-30, another Mk II, and a Speed Six in 38/357. I'd like to have a .454 Casull Alaskan, a MK IV, maybe one of the bolt action .22 rifles, a Charger, and a GP-100. I've always loved Ruger firearms, my first "new" gun was my P-85 which I've had since they were new, early '80's maybe? I don't even remember buying my first 10/22, I've had it for 40+ years. My .454 Casull I traded for a really expensive watch to an older guy who used to carry it as bear protection while gold prospecting in AK. He was moving to AZ and was more interested in the barometric pressure my watch could tell him than the pistol. Shooting it with .454 Casull rounds is um...painful. However, shooting .45 Colt through it is like shooting my Single Six, you can do it all day without bleeding ears and fingers. My MKII is a 10-5/8" bull barrel, so it's like shooting a rifle, tack driver doesn't quite describe it.
