Best wishes to Dan's wife on her surgery. Hope it goes smoothly followed by a full and speedy recovery. Shall I say also best wishes to Dan that he survives the recovery

Maybe we should all pitch in and buy Dan's wife a bell to make things easier for her to let Dan know when she needs help
:peep:

Good News: After a year of watching the woman struggle with a bad shoulder, she finally did ALLLL the hurdles and steps (PRP, Acupuncture, PT, Massage, Chiro, clicking her heels together three times etc ) to see a surgeon consult to talk about options.

Bad News/Good News: Surgeon agreed that surgery is pretty much her only option at this point. Diagnosed it as DCO, where the clavicle and AC joint are rubbing against each other so much that the clavicle breaks down into sharp knives basically and stabs the AC each time you move your shoulder...

Good News: Insurance authorized the procedure, now we just have to schedule

Bad News: Ortho called and said they have an opening on TUESDAY (like in 4 days) for the surgery... That's like, fast in the Ortho surgery schedule world. Which means we need to get our shit in gear for what comes next. Surgery healing time is 6 weeks min (most of it in a sling), up to 12 weeks. She will be off work for at least 6 weeks and then light duty for at least 6 after that.

Good News: She will be able to spend a lot of time suns out / buns out on the deck working on her tan.

Bad news: She is going to drive me crazy, because she will be so stir cray cray.

Dan, I am sorry that you have to go through this, but whatever you do l, do not let her talk the doctor into putting a ring in your nose. Lol I wish her all the best, she should heal up and have a functioning shoulder once again.
My wife has had more than a few surgeries so I have had to be the caregiver to a caregiver which is an on seemingly hard task.
Just make sure that she goes through all the PT, that’s what saved me during my shoulder operation.

Best Wishes and a good recovery.
Find something to keep her busy:
genealogy, a new language, a new "TOY" she can use one handed, or lots of books on disc.

Have lots of love and patience. It goes a long ways.

Happy day!

Nice! I put a metallic midnight blue '72 Chevelle in one of my books. So what's the bad news?

Daughter and her Husband came into town, i haven't seen her in a Year and a half. They spent the night last night and i got most of the day with them. :thumbsup2:
They went out tonight with my daughter's mother and left 160 lbs (2) of dog's here with me and won't be back until tomorrow.

My mental case Lab mix is doing pretty well, (She knew one of them) but there has been a little growling and a snap or two towards the 10 MO one that's bigger than her.

Hopefully it will be all good.

Wifey is tolerating it well, that's like 240 lbs of Dog's (3) in the house. icon_eek

Praying for a great surgery, and great outcome :thumbsup2:

If she gets too antsy, tell her what I’m sure she’s told tons of patients...

We had 6 labs and 1 mix here last Memorial day. Talk about a shit show!

Here they are posing for cookies. "Red", dog in the middle broke rank. He's still got his balls so it's understandable.
