Apparently SPSCC just put out a notice for an active shooter. My wife showed me some post just now. Seems developing. I'll post more when I hear more.
Update. If you read below for a more in depth update. Basically an employee interpreted information incorrectly, shared it out, that info was reshared in to community. Given the fact I was hearing sirens at the time, it was easy to assume that the information was worth a share out if people were in the area. there was a post on reddit today saying the school was operating Virtual Only today due to threats made earlier in the week.

No one really knows what’s going on there. I drive by there about 15 times a day with nothing going on at all. Not even police presence.
We heard bomb threat. But see nothing. |

Just wanted to post up quick incase people were in the area who were in the know. I live right around the corner and I've heard sirens, but those could be for an accident on I5 too. After doing some digging, apparently a maintenance person misinterpreted some information that was sent out by the school in an NCO communication. They thought it was currently happening based on threats made to the school earlier in the week. They shared out to someone who shared out in the community. A friend of mine is a student there and also heard the same thing, same source, and texted me a little while after my OP because I live near by. Sorry for the nothing burger.
Actual events can happen so quickly, so I felt it was good to share in the instance there was something actually happening. I guess better to be safe than sorry. Especially considering the originator of the source was an employee. |
