Hi all, recently moved here from the Bay Area... North Bay not fair from Travis Air base. I retired not too long ago, and my wife will retire in December.. so she is staying there on our boat for now until she gets here. We have been wanting to get out of Cali for a while. Multiple reason.... State income tax around 13% (on TOP of sales and federal and gas tax!) Too crowded. Untenable gun laws. You become a felon with a stroke of the pen. The politics have just gone crazy down there. I can easily imagine the day when "they" make hard to even own a .22 rifle.
I enjoy tactical shooting, target shooting, hunting, collecting... if it goes bang! I like it!
Thanks for having me!

I already did! First thing I did, was get my license and register to vote! Second thing was apply for my CPP....
Voting is critical to me, I DO NOT want to see WA go the way of Cali.

Howdy neighbor.
I'm just on the other side of the narrows bridge.
What kind of boat? Any plans to move it up here?

And an escape it was! Phew, got out under the "wire" of more insane Kali regulations! That said, I lived in Solano County, in Benicia, which is a great little town. The county has a great, pro 2A Sheriff, that WILL issue a CCW without have to pay oodles of money and you don't have to be connected. The cost is a bit high, total with required training was about $200.00 (so those of you complaining about $50.00... don't! We have it good here.) It also took about 6-7 months for them to do my background checks. And you have to renew every two years. BUT, at least it is obtainable in SOME counties! And good through-out the state.
To the boat question, it is a 50' steel trawler, built on a fish-boat hull design. It was made by Metal Craft Marine, and they are out of business now for several years.. The owner built this one as his own live-aboard yacht. We plan on bringing her up to WA next spring. That's the plan for now! Big Cat 3306T single diesel, and we can carry about 2500 gallons of fuel.

Right on, I play around on sailboats. This is a great place for boating and a boat your size will give you lots of options. The passage inside Vancouver Island is beautiful.

But as most states that do have concealed carry charge, Washington isn't too bad. While it is true, Constitutional carry is much better, if you travel most states with concealed carry will recognize your permit. They won't recognize Constitutional carry. So, we must navigate the system.

We used to own a cruising sailboat, but got to the age where being out in the weather wasn't much fun. We are looking forward to cruising up here!
