Have you tried hunting here yet? Any luck?

I can think of many other states I’d rather hunt elk on. But Blacktail on the other hand. People don’t get it till they try it here.

I did go out out last season, saw a legal bull on my way out. It was not ethical for me to take the shot in that situation. Good thing I did not because I later learned I needed a supplemental permit to hunt that area. Just how private is WA? Saw not legal deer.

It might come to that. Alaska was a goal in 5 years but looks like New Mexico or Arizona is more realistic. But I hate snakes!

Public hunting ground is getting harder and harder to find.
A lot of the timber company's want a "fee" to use their ground now.
Good luck finding a good place.

Not saying there is a surplus of public land, but we are better than many states in that regard. I strictly hunt public land and have only eaten tag soup 1 out of 5 years hunting deer. That is also with a couple years of just a weekend or two per year.
Blacktail is the devil. Those deer can fuck off and die. We have all 3 species. Whitetail and Mulies are far superior and worth the travel/effort.
