Hello. New to the state by 1.5 years. From the East, Penn to be more precise. Came here for the challenge of hunting elk and more types of deer. I belong to another forum and will try to participate on here as well.

I did go out out last season, saw a legal bull on my way out. It was not ethical for me to take the shot in that situation. Good thing I did not because I later learned I needed a supplemental permit to hunt that area. Just how private is WA? Saw not legal deer.

Greetings and Welcome to WaGuns !!! Welcome to Washington. Public hunting ground is getting harder and harder to find. A lot of the timber company's want a "fee" to use their ground now. Good luck finding a good place.

Not saying there is a surplus of public land, but we are better than many states in that regard. I strictly hunt public land and have only eaten tag soup 1 out of 5 years hunting deer. That is also with a couple years of just a weekend or two per year. Blacktail is the devil. Those deer can fuck off and die. We have all 3 species. Whitetail and Mulies are far superior and worth the travel/effort.
