I have a XDS that has an extremely tight front sight. I tried knocking it out with a polymer and steel punch only to dent the sides of the stock front sight. Springfield said their tight but you should be able to punch them out in seconds, so I must doing something wrong. Is there a gunsmith in the city of Seattle. Up to Shoreline and down to Burien, Kent, SeaTac area that has a decent rate. One guy I was referred to tried to charge me a full hour of work. Any suggestions would be great. Id go to a gun smith thats good at West Coast in Bellevue but it'll be weeks before Im over that way.

:cheers2:

You're replacing them entirely? Then don't worry about damaging them. Just use a steel punch and a big hammer. Obviously be care with the slide, but don't even worry about the sight itself.
XDs have gotten better, but sometimes still have overly tight sights that will bend the t-handle on sight pushers or even break parts on lower quality and some of the good universal ones too.

EDIT. Wow I didn't even notice this was a couple months old. :doh1: :doh1:
