Howdy,
I have a couple M&P's that I would like thumb safeties installed on. Any suggestions on where to find parts, and a gunsmith in the Grays Harbor/Thurston County area who could do it? Thanks!

I could be totally wrong, but I think you'd probably just be better off selling those and buying models with the thumb safety.

Midwest Gun Works has them. I've done them myself and it's a very straightforward process.

You need these 3 parts.

Follow this video except instead of deleting you are adding the safety back in.

A note that you can only do this on the M&P 2.0 model. The 1.0 does not have the cut out for them.

I didn't even think to ask which version, hence my response--since almost all of mine are 1.0s and didn't seem like it was worth the trouble. Didn't know the 2.0 had the ability to do this. Very nice!

Thanks for the info! Mine must be the 2.0 as they both have cutouts that are plugged.
