Stolen Gun Database

Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:22 pm

Whenever a firearm is reported stolen, the victim should submit the serial to http://www.hotgunz.com/. If you are thinking of purchasing a gun, look it up! It's free and takes seconds.

While it's an underused resource, it is just one more way that you can hopefully retrieve your stolen asset or CYA before a sale.

The latter. We are not privy to any online shared LEO resources.

The only national database for stolen guns is run by the feds, and only accessible to law enforcement agencies. It also relies on departments to report the stolen items, so if some two man department in the middle of nowhere takes a week or two to report the stolen guns, it won't show up for at least that long.
This is better than nothing, and at least gives you a chance. Best thing is to make it known to everyone you can, and have them pass it on... like that old shampoo commercial.. you tell two people and they tell two people, and so on.

Someone got into my car and took my 9mm. It's a Sig Sauer p938 serial # 52B046243. $200 reward for my gun, $300 for my gun and the mother fucker that took it. it looks like the picture posted, mine has grey colored grips. I forgot it in there, while i was dealing with my wife and her surgery. Thanks im advance

I wouldn’t leave a snickers bar on the seat in airport parking.

I wouldn't leave a Snickers bar, either. Those things are delicious. I might leave a Taurus, though.

We want these thefts reported, so let’s not do the victim-blaming thing please.

The victim blaming is disgusting! We should all be able to leave our property without fear of theft. That being said in today's society it just isn't the case. I sent this to both of my pawn shops so they can BOLO.
