Since I've heard nothing but silence from I5 guns, and apparently they gave them to an outside gunsmith, I'm putting out a BOLO for my M1 Garand. Work was supposedly completed so rifle should be intact, plus stripped receiver.
Springfield Armory M1 Garand with Beretta 308 barrel, SN#4722063
H&R M1 Garand stripped receiver, SN#3869644

I'll try and find a photo, but its just a standard Garand, just with a 308 barrel instead of 30.06.

Will they even tell you who the outside gunsmith was? I can't imagine that I5 used that many different gunsmiths.

Well I found out where my rifle is at. It's at Bullseye in Tacoma. Got in contact with them and we will try to work something out.
