So I found this sitting in a fellas back yard last week. Its been off the road for almost 38 years. Last registered in 1981.
I make bad decisions sometimes!

Hopefully there is some metal left under the rust. Could be a real cool project. Just budget plenty of Benjamin's. A friend of mine restored a 1958 Impala he found in a farm field. Was missing a few parts so he just bought another 1958 (Bel-Aire) so he had a source for various hardware items, including nuts and bolts. When done he just sold the leftover car for scrap. For years he made the show circuit in the NW with his beautiful Impala. When I saw the threat title "Money Pit" I thought you were talking about one of my rifles. Every project rifle I've started so far has exceeded it's initial budget by a minimum factor of two. Next one I start I'm just going to multiply my initial budget by three and in the end be proud of myself for saving money

Oh hell yeah! Looking forward to this project developing! Plans? Schedules? hahah You just got it home, but if you're like me, you already have a rough schedule planned out.

I cleaned it up and its on the lift in the shop right now. Its better than I thought. It has rust in the floors in the deeper foot well portions and in the center of the trunk. All the frame boxing is great, spring mounts are good, rockers and jambs are good, window channels look good so far, core support and inner fender wells are goo to. A little rust on the front and rear edges of the rear wheel wells but not into the inner tubs. The front fenders have a couple small holes in the lower portion that will need to be replaced. No real schedule, just wanna drive it some this summer. It doesnt need to be a finished, restored show car, but needs to be fun. Im going to start/focus on the mechanicals first. Brakes, lines, engine, trans. Still deciding if I wanna go SBC or BBC?

Are these pics sideways for other users or is it my old windows7 antique software just not reading the pic correctly?
(I got it!! I have to edit them on my Ifone first and flip them over, save, then flip them back, save and good to go!!!))
