Any Threadrippers in here?

I am building an x399 Carbon Pro with a 1950x tomorrow. This is the first time that I am using the fugly Noctua CPU cooler. The machining and fit and finish are beautiful. The fan color is way less attractive. How is your performance experience with the threadripper series?

First time with a M.2 drive as well. I went with the 970 Pro. Anyone have any thoughts on M.2s ?

There is no more setting jumpers on the motherboard or drives. Bios flash is now user friendly and mouse friendly. PSUs are now modular so you only install the cables that you need. Youtube is your friend. pcpartpicker.com is your guide.

M.2 is a great form factor, you'll get a lot better performance out of an nVME drive than one that uses SATA, but SATA will wind up being cheaper. I'd still recommend spending a little more now and future-proofing.

I used 2 1-TB M.2 960 Pros in my build in late 2017, as C: & D: drives. Performance is well worth it, if you need the r/w speed. In my case, I am doing some very heavy Photoshop use and it makes a difference.
E: drive is an 850 EVO 2TB SATA III.
My fan is a Noctua NH-D15 6 heatpipe with Dual NF-A15 140mm fans and keeps thing plenty cool even with intensive cpu use.

No experience with AMD, always have built with Intel as it seems to work better with ram amounts of 32 or 64GB and Adobe programs.
