One of the downsides to living in a rural area where you have weyhauser land behind you is they get to log up to your property line. This maple used to have 3 big offshoots one fell a few years ago these other two just fell about two weeks ago. Appears to be root rot, and the clear-cutting took away the wind break. My mom used to sit up in that tree back in the 80s and watch the coyotes. Told her about it and she was like you should have ple ty of firewood now, :ROFLMAO: yeah no maybe the branches will be firewood lol. Now to get it out of the field.

Probably cut up the smaller limbs and make something useful from the main trunks. Gotta figure out how to get them out first

Well, I've never been into Axes other than using them for their intended purpose.
Ordered some leather straps to hang a gun on the wall. Came from Germany, and looks like the company is mostly into the woods tools.
Flyer that came with has a couple dozen axes and their style, uses etc. Gorgeous work from what I can tell. Check out Helko Werk.

I’m not so much of a knife collector, but I will grab neat looking or hand made stuff with rustic flair.

This one I bought at a swap meet when I was about 10-11 years old. My dad always sold hot rod parts at the swap meets so I would wander around all weekend and buy n sell stuff at his booth.
I picked this dagger up and when he found it he was not very happy about it and took it from me. So 30 years later he retires and is cleaning his shop out and we found it up in the rafters where he hid it from me!

Some one made it from a Nicholson Black Diamond mill bastard file.
It’s probably one of my favorite pieces.

This hand made cleaver was another cool find. I dunno if it’s a bone or antler handle. It’s got an awesome smokey blue color that I’ve never seen in antler or bone before. The handle is angled and curved ever so slightly and fits a right hand like a glove.

Damn straight. Oly bought Lone Star and Buckhorn in the early 70's as a way to bring in a different market share (Oly was marketed to the higher class folks, so Buckhorn was for the 'little people'). Pabst done fucked it up when they bought the Oly lineup though.
